Germany producing the highest concentration of world class Rieslings. However there is more. Look also into the Pinot Noir, here is called Spätburgunder.
The categories where the wines are in produced are the following, from low to high: Qualitätswein and Prädikatswein. And Prädikatswein is divided, from low to high in: Kabinett - Spätlese - Auslese - Beerenauslese (BA) - Eiswein - Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA).
Most used grape varieties: white varieties - Riesling, Grauburgunder/Ruländer and Weissburgunder, to a lesser extent Sylvaner. Red varieties - Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) and Dornfelder, to a lesser extent Portugieser, Trollinger and Schwarzriesling (Meunier).

Mosel

This includes the river Mosel, from where it joins the River Rhine to the German border and its two small channels, the Saar and the Ruwer. Production from basic to Grosses Gewächs (GG) and from dry (Trocken) too sweet (TBA).
