Most of South Africa's wine regions are found on and around the coastline of the Cape where they can have the advantage of the cooling influences of the Ocean.

Most common grape varieties white: Chenin Blanc - Sauvignon Blanc - Chardonnay. For blauw varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon - Syrah - Pinot Noir and Pinotage (Pinot Noir X Cinsault).
